More than 70 sophomore and junior students from the PE Leadership Training program at Downers Grove North High School individually collected food and clothing to donate to the Downers Grove Area FISH Food Pantry. They collected from family, from neighbors and friends, and they bought new items.
Colleen Eggers and her colleagues at the Advocate Good Samaritan Wellness Center are sore, but happy. Every year they get the members to sponsor them in the Burpee Challenge. With all proceeds going this year to the Downers Grove Area FISH Food Pantry, the members pledged $1.00 per Burpee completed by each of the staff. By the end of the day on December 15th, they had completed enough Burpees to donate $1,307 to the pantry. In addition 107 pairs of socks, 2 pairs of leg warmers, 51 hats, 5 scarves and 79 pairs of mittens were collected-almost 32 pounds of warmth altogether.
Downers Grove Area FISH, Inc. is a 501 (C) 3 not-for-profit organization. Your tax-deductible donations are greatly appreciated. You may mail contributions to 4340 Prince Street, Downers Grove, Il 60515
The employees of Salco Products, a manufacturer of railcar parts in Lemont, all received bonuses from this family-owned company. They then displayed their generosity by shopping for food in November to give to people who are less fortunate. For the past several years they have donated the food to the Downers Grove Area FISH food pantry.
